How to unclog my shower and bath tub?

My shower and bath tub keep clogging up. When i am taking a shower i have to limit my time in there because the water gets so high its going to overflow. I have had my shower snaked 6 times in the past year. I have poured bottles and bottles of Drano down there. Is there anything else i can pour down there? If i or my boyfriend take a shower it takes two days to drain. I don't know what else to do.How to unclog my shower and bath tub?
I had very good luck with Dawn dishwashing soap. Get yourself a plunger (a new one with good suction). Get a large bottle of the Dawn dish soap stuff, poor about 1/4 to 1/3 of the bottle down into the drain when it is dry, and let it sit overnight. Then heat up a really big pot of water (like you make spaghetti in) and poor it down the drain to melt any accumulated grease and hair conditioner. Plunge it thoroughly to break up any clogs. If there is a vent hole (like the one in the sink to prevent a water overflow) make sure you plug that with a wash cloth to create a pressure vacuum before you do the plunging.

If that doesn't work, you may have a clog in the main trap, and that will involve a plumber. How to unclog my shower and bath tub?
First of all - do not use tub or shower while the Drano is in there. Bail it out with a bucket. There are unclog kits/snakes you can get for about ten dollars. Even more economically, there are plastic yard length sticks you can stick down drains to unclog a drain.
Have you bothered to call the landlord? Sometimes the roof vent is clogged, which is his responsibility.
One cup baking soda, one cup white vinegar. Pour the baking soda first, then the white vinegar. It will help clear the drain. I have used this when drano doesn't work.

Use it about 1 time per week, in a month or so you should see results. Won't hurt the pipes either.

PS. This is for the tub. Use only 1/2 for the sink, but do them both at roughly the same time. You may have a backup in one or the other just at the point they come together. If you do them at different times, the plub will just not clear
Are you using a trap on the drain to catch the hair, or do you just let it be open when you shower?

Do you know where the clog actually is? IS it really deep in the piping or is it just a hair ball clogging the entrance to the drain?

If you have that kind of plug, go to Sears and get a flexible grabbing tool ( link/pic below ). This will help 'grab' bunches of hair at the drain and down in several inches. It works very well.

If the clog is down deep in the pipes, then your only other option is a pro and $$$$.

I'd recommend you use a trap on the drain and clean it after each shower. Prevention!
