How much bath/shower stuff do u own?

14 counting the shampoo %26amp; conditioner.

11 without....just body gels and stuff.How much bath/shower stuff do u own?
Not too much, now that I know what works. I'm assuming you're talking about cleaning supplies. Use ';The Works'; and it's all you'll ever need! They make shower and tub spray, and toilet cleaner and the stuff is amazing!

If you're talking about soaps and shampoos, I have considerably more. I like to change up my shampoos and conditioners because I think it's better for hair. I change up soaps for different scents. I have different razors for different parts of the body. So, yeah.... you'll see more sitting out in my bathtub, but not too many cleaning supplies under the sink! How much bath/shower stuff do u own?
60ish - I've colected them over 5 yrs XD
All that is in my bathroom.

Problem with shower/bath. Need quick fix!?

I think I broke the shower... The little thing that you pull up so that water comes out the showerhead broke and it won't work. Does anyone know how to fix this? Do I have to call someone?Problem with shower/bath. Need quick fix!?
Did you break the lever off or did it feel like it may have come loose? if it feels loose take the screws out of the cover plate and take a look, you may be able to reconnect it,if it was broke off you may be able to replace it yourself.if it was my tub i would take a look at the very least to try and fix it myself, you can find a plumbing supply co in the phone book call and ask for a little help,i would do this before calling a plumber, what can it hurt?Problem with shower/bath. Need quick fix!?

read about half way down........

no quick fix
you have to get a new diverter spout,
Yea your going to need to call a plumber and have them replace that whole piece.
Unscrew it counterclockwise and take the whole fawcet off. go to hardware or home store and ask the old guy to fix it if not ask for a replacement, you have to put pipe putty on the threads before you screw it back on, if you need to use a pipewrench put a heavy rag on it first not to scratch it.

Better yet call local vo tech and ask plumbing instructor to have students help you, give them a couple dollars each, if you make it worse a plumber will love you

Best bet is ask a plumber or 2 for a written estimate and make sure an estimate is free
You need to tear up the walls and remodel the whole bathroom
I own a small business doing bathroom renovations. It sounds like all you need is a new spout. The old one will come off in one of two ways: 1) it simply twists off, or; 2) there will be an Allen key set screw underneath -- just loosen the set screw, and slip the spout off. Once you have it off, take it to Home Depot, or wherever, and you can buy a new one,no problem. Should cost under $20 for a typical diverter spout. Best of luck.

How many days/weeks have you gone without a bath or shower?

long time. my record is probably about a monthHow many days/weeks have you gone without a bath or shower?
I shower every morning, but I have pale skin and dark hair. If you have blonde hair you can probably get away with every other day. Other then that every day with dandruff shampoo in the winter. How many days/weeks have you gone without a bath or shower?
Went 2 weeks once.

Was deeep in the boonies with the Army.

Best I could manage was a crotch bath with icy water every couple of days.

Man, that sucked! I've never been that filthy or smelly before or since!

yeah. last year for my school's chorus competition trip to myrtle beach me and my friend went to the beach before the award ceremony and decided we needed to shower so we werent all sandy. we saved time by hopping in the shower with our bathing suits on and i had usher in my head but i turned it into ';i wanna make love in this tub.'; then i realized she had her pump on (she's diabetic.) she screamed SH!T and jumped outta the shower. it was funny.
No, but we did to save time. My husband and I had a newborn baby and a small water heater. It wasn't fun like you would expect, it was all business ... but we did both get clean in the time it usually took one of us.
Ofcoz you are ';just thinkin about the environment';...haha...no i havent done that to save water but i try other things like conserving energy.
I've shared both, but admittedly, water conservation was not at the top of the agenda.

Or when you step out, even if it isn't cold it feels so much colder than it is?Why is it when you step into a warm shower/bath...?
    it's weird...

and why do you want to stay in there for the rest of your life? Why is it when you step into a warm shower/bath...?
I know, I'm wondering the same thing, but I have no idea.
Because the arterial vessels in your feet absorb the heat from your shower/bath, and your venous vessels are ...god...my explanation would take way to long and I doubt you are smart enough to understand. Just know that you feel cold when you step out because heat is leaving your body.
    I dunno but it's true : )
Your body wants to balance temperature. When hot water hits your skin, the heat LEAVES your skin and heads to the core of your body. That's why you feel cold when you first step in. But then the hot water heats your skin up, and your body and skin are both hot and you feel good :)

When you step out of the shower, you still have water on your skin. To dry your skin off, the water needs to evaporate. In order to evaporate (change from a state of liquid to gas), energy (heat) is needed. Energy (heat) used for evaporation is STOLEN from your body. So that's why you feel cold when you step out %26lt;--- haha I think this one makes more sense :D
Its because Its through Cold Air that's why
I have no clue but that is a good question...
Your body's current temperature reacts to the hot/warm water like a ';shock'; because your body isn't used to it at that moment.

  • Yes i need help every time i bath of shower i get real hot then start to sweat in my body smells?

like i can smell food smell comein out of my pores what to doYes i need help every time i bath of shower i get real hot then start to sweat in my body smells?
Well, if you smell food- it is common for certain foods in a person's diet to be exuded from their pores. To a certain extent no matter what you eat will have this effect- the difference tends to be more noticeable depending on how often you shower or bathe.

A good suggestion would be sit down on a chair or what have you, on top of your towel, in the nude, following your shower and ';air dry'; your body. That's right, all the nooks and crevices should be exposed to the air to get a good dry- I find this works very well, because when you first get out of the shower your body is still sweating a lot from how hot the shower was.

Another suggestion would be, the last 30 seconds of your shower, switch the water to the cold setting. If you can tolerate the cold, it would also be a good time to rinse conditioner form your hair in the cold water, as your hair will be softer when rinsed with cold water.Yes i need help every time i bath of shower i get real hot then start to sweat in my body smells?
You need to cleanse your body from the inside out, so drink lots of water and eat healthy and that should help work the smell out of your body through your pores.
    take a cooler shower.

Can you bath/ shower during a lightening storm?

I always heard not to.Can you bath/ shower during a lightening storm?
case 1: the walls are made of conducting material

In this case you can safely bath, because the silica in the concrete is a better conductor of electricity than water and will conduct the electricity to the earth. How ever highly ionised water might still conduct a fraction of the electricity.

Case 2: the walls are made of insulating material and the water storage is exposed to lightning:

This might be really dangerous as the lightning can be discharged only through the water and will toast you.

Case 3: The walls are made of insulating material and the water storage is properly insulated from lightning attacks:

DON WORRY.Can you bath/ shower during a lightening storm?
Views of Arun K,are simply beautiful over the range of the answer and the simplicity of the presentation.HATS OFF FOR THE ANSWER.

In Vietnam we often showered during torrential rain. There was somewhat less lightning for whatever reason. Better than being dirty.

Many people visiting Colorado mountains make the mistake of taking shelter under trees during rain and lightning. Virtually every year one reads in the newspaper or hears on the raiio about one or two of these people being struck and killed.

A body of water is a very dangeous place. If you are there during a lightning storm you are probably one of the tallest objects. Also, there are high currents (the killers) in the water located at the immediate area of the strike.

The more metal objects in your clothing, the worse it will be for you.
Sure, unless you plan on doing it out on the open :)
No! No, no, no, no, no! It is a very, very bad idea. You are very likely to get struck by lightning that way. The electricity can carry through the piping and the water.

And even if you haven't been struck before while bathing in a storm, there is no need to take the risk.

If you don't believe me, the TV show, Mythbusters, actually tested this out. Their results were the same. (They also tested out the phone thing as well. That's bad too.)
The Mythbusters did an episode on that and I believe that they proved that it wouldn't be a good idea. Granted, there are many variants to consider, such as the type of house you're in, where the bathroom is compared to the strike zone and so forth. I'm not sure exactly which episode it was, but if you don't mind spending a little time searching, you can probably find reference to it in the link below.
I would... as a matter of fact i did last night and I'm okay. There are some pretty strong storms here in Dallas and i never heard that. Now whats not safe is making a phone call on a land line during a storm... so i hear... but i have done that as well and I'm still alive.
It is alright actually. Most buildings will have lightning conductor installed to conduct away the electricity in event of lightning strike, so the occupants will be safe. As long as you are in the building, there is no fear.

You will fear if you are showering in the open and you are about the tallest object around in a lightning storm.
its ok i've never been struck by lightening,
Of course you can... The only thing that prevents people from showering during a lightning storm is possibilities of power outages which would leave you showering in the dark.or in some cases get freaked out when there is a power failure
Of course, and statistically I do not believe that too many people get fried in their bath, but it does tie you in closely to a solid ground plane and being wet lowers your own skin's resistance, both not so smart things to do around electricity.
Yes, but be sure not to bathe indoors. Bathing outdoors is much safer during a lightning storm. To be extra cautious, place a long metal rod close to the tub where you are bathing. This will repel any of the electricity that might find its way to your home from a far away lightning strike. The only thing to worry about when bathing outdoors is nosey neigbours and maybe a few bugs.

if i used latex condoms in the bath would they pop or anything? Are latex condoms ok to use in the shower/bath?
the water would wear the lubrication away and it could possibly breakAre latex condoms ok to use in the shower/bath?
Condoms aren't tested underwater, so there's not really any way to know unless you try, but that's obviously irresponsible. I wouldn't risk it. The most likely thing that'll happen is that the lube will be washed off and then it'll break because of the dryness.
well, it would work, but if it gets ';dry'; it might tear! i would reccomend using a lube that works with condoms and in the water, just to be safe!
There is a higher chance of them breaking but there are some that some porn stores carry that are meant for underwater use. Shower would be better than a bath as well.
    just dont use one

Survey: Is it recommended to have a shower/bath daily?

I was recently on the Caribbean ( Island Jamaica) and had to take two showers every day so I could keep clean and smell fresh due to how hot the weather was. When I returned to the United States, I noticed I would skip a day without taking a shower and still smell fresh, especially since it is winter. But I am wondering now if it is recommended to have a shower/bath daily?

What about you?Survey: Is it recommended to have a shower/bath daily?
Every other day is the recommended.

taking a shower or a bath daily is bad for your skin and hair. your hair and skin needs to retain some of the oils in it. Taking too much showers can make your hair fragile and cause it to break.

If you don't want to take a shower every day, take one every other day and use deodorant regularly.Survey: Is it recommended to have a shower/bath daily?
I guess it depends. Generally, I think people can shower every other day at most.

It's different for each case, though. Like for me, I have to take a shower daily, because skipping one day gives me rashes or some kind of skin irritation. I take 2 showers a day when I have gym.

I think, people should take a shower if once they feel ';sticky';, itchy, too hot or when they start to smell something fishy :p
Taking a bath/shower should be everybodys # 1 priority at the start of their day (after workin out/ exercising of course).

    It exfoliates

    Relieves stress

    Gets the germs off

and of course you will not have bo.

Just could never understand the bath thing (sittin in dirty water) i like my ';rain';. lol.
I take a bubble bath everyday because it's more of a my time type thing. I learned in beauty school that you should only shampoo your hair every other day at the most because of the essential oils in your scalp. Unless you have very oily hair, you strip them if you shampoo everyday.
    Depends on the climate.

If it is cold or winter, it doesn't matter if you stay up to a day

But if it is humid, you will feel sticky or sweaty, so I would say 1 shower daily.
I take a shower every day because I'm a professional dog groomer, and I just don't like smelling like dog. Lol.

I've heard that every other day is the recommended because showering/bathing too much can cause dry skin/hair.
it's personal choice. i take shower daily because i live in warm weather and i work and interact with customers on a daily basis.
I shower daily because i dont like smelling bad.

Its probably better to take showers daily but some people don't (like my science teacher) to ';save water';.

I would if i could but honestly i dont wanna smell.
it really depends on the person and the climate. some people sweat more, have oilier skin...others can get away with skipping a day
If I'm busy I do find myself skipping one day, but never more than that. Except if I am sick in bed then it could be a couple days....ew!

But yea, I would recommend showering/bathing daily because it helps prevent infections.
For me I do 2 one in the morning and one at night because of after school sports.
No, u r supposed to do it like every other day, it is healthier for you hair! idk though, lol
When I was growing up it was a bath once a week, and that habit of showering or bathing has on increased as I grew older.
im sure its fine, just wash after going to the toilet,
For some people.................I would hope so!!

Is it a big deal to wee in your bath if you shower off afterwards?

Happened to me. I was reading my harry potter book, and was just trying to take a long soak, and kinda peed, because I was not trying to get clean, was too relaxed, and was a bit too in the book. But I showered off after. Is it a big deal to wee in your bath if you shower off afterwards?
    No, not at All.

Is it a big deal to wee in your bath if you shower off afterwards?
No. As long as you shower off, it's fine with me.
    hahaha

if you dont care then why should we?

its not like we r the ones in the bath
    ehh, why not?
    i think its pretty disgusting

Absolutely!Do people sweat when they are taking a hot shower or bath?
After having a hot shower people do sweat.. that is coz of the reason of temperature difference
    I know I do.
    Yes.

Even if you're in water, you still sweat. Your body temperature rises and then you sweat because your body is trying to cool down. It happens when you swim even though the water may be cool. You still sweat.

Which one get you cleaner, a shower or a bath?

I've always taken showers, but when I take baths, my body soaks more and my insides gets cleaner wayy faster. Does that actually mean im cleaner by taking baths?Which one get you cleaner, a shower or a bath?
Technically showers are cleaner. When you bath you wash off all the dirt and germs but then you sit in it. If you feel cleaner inside when you bathe (I'm assuming you mean private regions) then you can 1. wash better in the shower or 2. shower to wash off all the yucky stuff then take a nice soak and wash off. Unfortunately, I work in the medical field so I rarely bathe. (mostly from being aroudn the germs its cleaner to just shower its what were taught but I usually shower and wash off then I take a bubble bath afterwards when I want to relax.)Which one get you cleaner, a shower or a bath?
A shower is actually generally cleaner. This is because in a bath when the dirt and bacteria come off your body they don't get washed away they stay in the bath. The warm temperature of the bath isn't nearly enough to kill bacteria and actually lets them incubate. In a shower however when the dirt and bacteria come off your body, you don't continue to bathe in it, and down the drain the dirt and bacteria goes.
Enjoy having a nice relaxing bath, then have a quick shower immediately afterwards to rinse off.

    Best of both worlds!

Or have a shower to get 'clean', then get into a nice bath to just relax.
Your putinany might get a bit more thourough of a cleaning, but in genral, baths are just like soaking in dirt/oil stew.

Which one, because in a bath you soak, but also your dirt is floating around you, but a shower just kinda hits you and runs off, but you dont soak in it..

with a shower you rinse with clean water - not soapy dirty water that you have just bathed in. Shower gels are made especially to rinse clean. You wash your hair, and your body all at the same time. If your a guy, you can even shave in the shower...(I do) Plus - you use less water. The downside is: you don't get to play with the rubber duckie!!!Does a shower or bath clean you better?
i would think a shower would, because when you use soap it gets all that dirt off, and then the water will rinse it off... in a bath, like you said, it's floating around you, and when you get up, it's most likely going to still cling to you.
A study was done that says a bath followed by a shower works best. The bath loosens the dirt and the shower rinses it away.
Shower. If you're taking a bath I believe you're making yourself dirtier by bathing sweat and what not.

Girls, what do you do when your taking a bath/Shower with your boyfriend, but you have to pee?

    1. Pee in the tub/shower anyways

    2. Pee only if he enjoys that kinda stuff

    3. Pee in the toilet of the same bathroom, and have him right there watching

    4. find a different bathroom to pee in.Girls, what do you do when your taking a bath/Shower with your boyfriend, but you have to pee?
Take over the bathroom and pee first before either one of us hop in the shower :)Girls, what do you do when your taking a bath/Shower with your boyfriend, but you have to pee?
    5. hold it until after the shower is over
Thank God we have a second bathroom, but in the event we had this problem--I'd have to say I'd pee in the tub/shower because either way, I'd have to scrub myself anyway. Even on the rare occasion I take a tub bath, I still shower afterwards because I don't like the tub scum/soap residue on me. I always shower after a bath. In the event I shower only--what the hell--it runs down the drain anyway.
    1. in the shower

    3. in the tub
My husband would prob have a heart attack if I urinated on him, lol. Eww anyone should urine is very nasty. That's a private thing, lol.
get close to the drain...and make sure the water is on you!!
    probably 3
    1. If I had a boyfriend, then I would NEVER EVER take a shower with him. It is so disgusting and gross.

    2. I would most definitely go to the bathroom and pee ahead of time.

    3. If I had a boyfriend, then I would NEVER EVER have him in the bathroom with me to watch me pee. That, too, is so disgusting and gross.

What is a reasonable contractor's fee for installing a standard half-bath with a shower stall ?

I live in SW Virginia. My husband and I could do the detail work such as painting an hanging cabinets. The main thing we need done is framing the room and connecting to the cast iron drain pipe in the basement (the bathroom will be on the 3rd floor in a 1 1/2 story 1950's home). Thanks :)What is a reasonable contractor's fee for installing a standard half-bath with a shower stall ?
Generally, there is a lot of variance to the cost of remodeling. I did my own recently, and was able to make a 8X10 bathroom for $900, but that was going middle of the line and doing it all myself. Look at around $350 for framing any 8X10 wall (Material and labor), another $150 per wall for drywall, $3-500 for an installed shower stall, if it is just standard, nothing fancy, $2-300 for a vanity installed, then add in flooring and lighting to get a ballpark. Also, in most states, a shower stall and sink is considered a full bath. What is a reasonable contractor's fee for installing a standard half-bath with a shower stall ?
I am a Framer and a reasonable price for the framing is around $2.50-$3.50 a square foot Plus materials Though because It is only remodel work you can negotiate the difference However if Virginia isn't a right to work state and you are forced to use the unions then I am sorry you'll have to pay way to much and are better off learning to frame and plumb your own projects. Oh and I think that when you put a shower stall in a bath it becomes a 3/4 bath I am not in real estate though so don't take my word for that though. Good luck If you were my neighbor I am so board right now I would help you just to get out of my own house. Like for nothing. Have fun.
Brandy, contact me directly so I can get some more particulars and I'll work you up a baseline price to work from.

Stop worrying my friend, these thing tend to straighten themselves out.How do I prevent the hose shower pipe in my bath getting twisted?
Buy a non metal hose, try your local bathroom showroom, look for hoses by Hansgrohe, any good quality hose should not twist, you get what you pay for!
If that's really problem, buy new hose :D more elastic... It's 5$ only

How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?

I am thinking of buying a home with a half bath in the basement and need to add a shower for my elderly inlaws. It is big enough to add the stall, we just need to plumb it. We are going to hire a contractor to do the job. How much can we expect to pay?How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?
Expect to pay somewhere around $2000 to $3000 depending on who you hire and what grade of materials you use. Picking an expensive tile or shower hardware could possibly increase your costs. How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?
Probably about 2500 dollars, if you get a low-cost stand-up unit.

Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?

I think it does my aunt told me to never get in the shower after tanning. Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?
    Both can.

My mother in law worked in a tanning salon for ever, and I helped her get her Smart Tan certificate.

They say that you should not come in contact with water for at least 8 hours after tanning.

Especially true when it comes to self tanners, as they only 'tan' the top layers of the skin. Showering sloughs of the 'tanned' skin. Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?
No -only if you have a sunless tan from a bottle -your supossed to wait 24 hours to shower - but a tan from the sun will not wash away -this is silly -once its there its there -
Grab a Brillo pad -scrub really hard-it may come off. Other than that-nope- it will not ';come off';. If there is too much sun as in -you have a burn- the redness may deteriorate with cool water. You remove the redness and not the tan.
Could be because hot water would be uncomfortable on skin made sensitive by exposture to the sun.At the end if the day a';tan'; is a ';burn'; and should be treated as such.
Only if it is fake, such as you used a product to make your skin darker. But a natural tan from the sun will not come off in the shower, but it will fade with time.
    unfortunately yes...espesh if its fake
Yeah it can, one of my friends went too orange before her formal and got in the shower and scrubbed herself and got some of it off. It didnt all come off but it looked much better than it did before. So yes it can, but it doesnt like wash straight off, you really have to try to get it off.
you are shedding skin all the time, tan will fade, unless you cheated an had it sprayed on
in due course , if u use gram flour instead of soap
If it's a natural, sun-induced tan, I don't think soap and water can do any harm. But, if it's a spray-on tan, then maybe it would wash off a little.

What products are available to line bath/shower enclosures other than tile, fiberglass, or granite. ?

I'm looking for a product that can withstand years of water, comes in large panels or sheets, is relatively thin (1/2 in. or so) and is aesthetically pleasing. Cost is a factor, but I'd rather pay a little more than mess with hours and hours of time and tiles. There are a lot of plastic materials available, in addition to fiberglass, and they're usually more durable and resistant to damage than FG.

You might also look at what I call ';fake rock'; replicas -- they're basically thin concrete products that go up like tile ... except that you don't have to be careful with joints, and they usually cover a lot more area quicker. I used them to cover a giant plywood box, which now looks like a 16' rock wall at the end of my driveway, 7 feet tall. Looks incredible, takes no maintenance.

I've seen them used to line showers, and some of the thicker ones even make it look like a rock grotto, and with a bit of plumbing you can have the showerhead pouring over a rock at you, like a waterfall. The soap shelf, etc., can be worked in with different shape rocks, etc. One of my local dealers has several examples in his showroom.

It's easy %26amp; fun to work with, and hard to make a mistake. It is pretty cheap, too. About six bucks a sq foot, five yrs ago, plus the cost of mortar and sealer.

I think there are a number of larger companies that now have websites on this stuff, so it's worth a look if your local phone book doesn't list anything under stone, stonemason, etc., but most of your local builders will know who to go to. This stuff is almost universally used in place of real rocks now, though most people don't realize it.
Bath fitters are pretty cheap and extremely durable

Mid-cycle or after your period: your nether regions are most sensitive before your period.

After shower: open follicles makes it easier to remove hair, thus would hurt less.

    Clean bath/shower towels every day?

Dou you and you family use a clean bath/shower towel everyday?

Or do you stretch it out to a few days so as to reduce the usage of the washing machine and detergents (and possibly the tumble dryer)?

My neighbours (household of 5 people) do 3 - 4 loads of washing/drying each and every day....Clean bath/shower towels every day?
Use towels for a few days,,they`re only drying you not cleaning you,,Clean bath/shower towels every day?
It's not up to you to convince anyone. Keep your nose out of your neighbors' business

It is nice to have clean towels every day but not necessary for hygiene. If every family member uses their own towel and changes it when it is dirty or smells (otherwise once a week) and it gets washed in hot water that is OK. You should not make yourself a slave to this type of thing. Even in hotels now they have a sign in the bathroom about saving the planet etc. and reusing your towels. I would rather have a clean towel once a week which has been laundered on 60 deg C than a clean one every day that has only been washed in warm water.
It depends if you have health issues.

If you are healthy, use the same towl fora few days.

If you have health issues and are worried about germs, mold, etc, wash towls with bleach after every use.

I am also worried about my dad or my sister's cat doing something gross on it if I leave it hanging where they can get to it. (I used to reuse towls, then I realized what was happening when I was out of the room)
Perhaps your neighbor just loves to do laundry??? We have 6 living in our home and there is no way I'd be doing that much laundry; Most of the time I only do laundry once a week and have maybe 10 loads.

As far as reusing towels, even Martha Stewart says a bath towel can be used for a week prior to washing. Hand towels and wash cloths are a different story - I give those 2-3 days.
when my kids were young, we did the same amount of laundry.. and used towels only once because of their learning to clean themselves and not doing a bang-up job all the time..

now that they are older, and able to clean themselves properly.. once a week we change out the bath towels.. every shower a new washcloth.. and about twice a week on the hand towels..

the kitchen towels are a two to three day use, if they don't hit the floor...

when i'm alone in my place, i end up wth about 7 loads of clothing a month.. maybe 9. that is if i'm sick, it's summer and hot.. and i have to change them out more often.
If you hang them out to dry when you have used them they will be fine to use two or three times. As a previous correspondent commented though if you have skin problems it may be best to change them more often.

Imagine how much you would spend on electricity and detergent if you washed them every day ! Save your money and think of the enviroment.
I use mine for a few days before washing, its not like they're dirty if you're clean when you you use them! My partners family wash theirs every day - but that is because her Mum is v.v.v. house proud and the bath has to be dried after it is used, so they need washing after each use!

I reckon they're fine for a few days though, til they get that damp smell... Nice!
I use 3 different towels for everyday. One to dry me, my hair and a hand/face towel. Although I do use them for about a week until I get some new ones out. And when my body towel is due for a wash, I use my hair towel instead because that's only dried my hair. So yeh..
I do use a new towel every time I shower but I dont have to do that many loads a day i might do a load a day but thats because i have kids too..
    depends

i used to use a new one every time %26amp; sometimes still will. If all I have done is dried my hair with one or something, and I hang it up to dry, I will reuse it.
Generally i will wash the towells every 2-3 days as they sometimes get smelly as have no garden/washing line theres no where for them to dry!
when my youngest son is home he goes through 5 bath towels a day and 3 face cloths where as me and hubby share the same towel for 2 days.
we dont all have a shower/bath every day we use some flannels to wash our bodys. Then like every 2 days we get a shower/bath.My mum sorts out all the towels! lol x
For the female unit: Use it twice.

For the male unit: Use it once.
I use my towels for about 4 or 5 days - I ensure that I hang it somewhere to dry after use so it doesn't get smelly. Some people are such wasters !
i reuse mine if it doesnt stink,

your neighbor probably has stinky kids

Are you a shower or bath person?

Also, do you shower/bath first thing in the morning, last thing at night, or both? Are you a shower or bath person?
Shower at night is the most sublime...wash off all that grime...all fresh n clean for the dreamtime! Are you a shower or bath person?
Wet wipes in strategic areas ... Once a week or so.
    shower.
    shower

i usually shower only at night but some dats i shower both in the morning and the night
Take showers, before bed-relaxing, cozy. In the morning-wake up,pre coffee jolt.
I always shower first thing in the morning and sometimes at night, but I never take baths because you never know what kind of germs you will get in your butt while sitting in the bathtub.
    showering at night
I shower in the morning and at night after I workout. I like taking baths, but only if I am really stressed out or if I feel sick because it helps calm me down. I also like to read while I am taking a bath.
Shower, first thing in the morning.
I TAKE BOTH AT NIGHT AND JUST TAKE A SHOWER IN THE MORNING.
I am a shower peeeson, but once a week I like to take a bath and watch tv, can you believe that.
i always shower twice a day

1 time as soon as i wake up

1 more shower plus wash my hair just before i go to bed
Shower in the morning. I only take a bath when I want to escape from my children.
do you want clean friends rom the net ?:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))鈥?br>

    One person, shower.

    Two people, bath.

    Three or more, both.
Shower in the morning, bath to relax.
    Shower.
Definatley shower....hate sitting in water that keeps getting colder....and besides, you're sitting in all the grime that you wash off....ewww
A hot shower to wake up each day. At night when you have had a long day a quiet hot bath, maybe with candles having the love of your life just sitting in ther with you.
shower. first thing in the morning or sometimes both morning %26amp; nite.
shower in the morning gets me woke and ready to take on the day
Shower in the night it is faster
A shower most of the time. If I take a bath it is usually after I work out or stressed and want to relax for a little bit. After I have relaxed I will shower off with soap and shampoo. When I was a kid bath all the time. Until I realized from working with dirt or the car.Something not very clean in other words. Even hair from your head. Getting out of the bath tub from taking a bath there could be things clinging to your supposedly clean body.
Shower. But nothing beats a relaxing, scented bath especially with all the incredible bath stuff you can get from the company, Lush.
Shower, but I like to take long ones when I get a chance :)

Bath- only when there is someone there to enjoy it with me.

If the water in a country is questionable - How does one take a shower or bath?

I'm speaking of Albania in this case. Please advise me..If the water in a country is questionable - How does one take a shower or bath?
Friend of mine traveled to albania last year and he was there for almost a month,He said there was no problems with the water or food.I would definitely drink bottled water if going there for a while till your body has time to acclimate. If you have any doubts about bath water just heat or add a small amount of bleach to bath water, one thing He was happy about were things were cheaper than in the U.S He had a great time and did a lot of traveling there.

Good LuckIf the water in a country is questionable - How does one take a shower or bath?
Washing is ok - I don't think the water is that bad you have to boil it. Drink bottled water - most people get an upset tummy no matter where they go - change of water always does it to me even when I go back to see my parents in UK.

The worst shower I took was 20yrs ago on the island of Kalymnos - I looked up opened my mouth - was a shock for my mouth to fill with salt water!!!! I believe they now have normal tap water!!
In Greece they shower and douche.

    They don't bathe.

    They BAA'TH ;-)

Mean the portion of Albania within the current borders of Albania, or do you have something else in mind ? Be more specific.

But you are about to receive so many rude insults from Greeks, wgy bother asking in the first place ?
When water is questionable, that usually refers to drinking water, not showering...I doubt you'll have any trouble.

  • Does having a bath or a shower add more value to your house?

I have a bath tub with a shower inside of it... but i was wondering if i just get a shower cubicle instead of a bath tub will that decrease the value of my house? or increase or stay the same?Does having a bath or a shower add more value to your house?
I disagree that it doesn't matter whether you go from a tub to a shower. A bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower is considered a 3/4 bath. A bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub is considered a full bath. If a potential buyer likes having a tub then they might rule out your house if your switch to a shower. If you leave the tub however, you don't alienate the person who likes to shower but really doesn't care about a tub. Of course the point is moot if you're not planning on selling your house.Does having a bath or a shower add more value to your house?
If it is the only bath, I would keep the shower/bath combo. People with kids need a bathtub. If it is not then it is really up to you. Most master suite baths have both a shower and garden tub and people expect that so you should have both there. Other than the master, baths have to be useful for people with families. If you don't have family friendly baths in other than the master it could decrease the value of your home. The only bath we had a shower only was in a finished basement as we felt a tub was unnecessary for that more limited use bathroom.
When my house was appraised, my one bathroom with large shower but no tub was considered a full bath...when I questioned this, I was told that now this was accepted as a full bath and it makes no difference whether there is a tub or shower. What adds value I was told was a separate bath and shower. I guess times are changing.

The way I look at it, if you have to live there, then put in what you want to live with and do not worry about it unless you are planning to sell when your reno is completed. I custom built my home for me and my family now, not for anyone I plan on selling to later on.
As one poster said, a shower, sink and toilet is a 3/4 bath. I bought my house with three 3/4, bathrooms - not a tub anywhere. I had a little one at the time. Missed the tub-then! I ended up just using a big wash tub inside of one of the really wide shower stalls. I didn't have to use it for long.

I want want of those real wide deep tubs. Because the little normal size tubs aren't really good for anything but bathing children, I don't miss those. If you have the option of putting in a deep wide tub and a shower head then I would do that. Double bonus that way. Otherwise, go for an updated shower stall.
your house value would remain the same, as you would still have a full bath. A full bath is a shower or a tub, along with the toilet and sink. A half bath is a toilet and sink only. Obviously a full bath has more value then a half bath.
If it's the only full bathroom in the house keep the tub. If it's the master bath then go for a shower.

People with kids need a tub.

It won't increase or decrease the price but will decrease who looks at it when selling.
If that is the only bath in your home, I wouldnt get rid of it. A prospective buyer would prob. want at least 1 full bath!

Do you think it is unsanitary to take a bath and not shower before or after?

Can you please explain why or why not you feel the way you do.Do you think it is unsanitary to take a bath and not shower before or after?
Agree with your hubby. Also cost more water and heat. Takes three times as long as a shower.

Peace.Do you think it is unsanitary to take a bath and not shower before or after?
its common sense. There are many strains of bacteria that are resistant to heat and even some types of medicines or chemicals. will you get sick? not necessarily. the skin is a good defense against foreign pathogens. If your washing dirt and grease off then a bath is fine. but your skin has your own norma-flora (bacteria) that you will never get rid of. Just like how women have their own ';yeast'; in their vagina's ;)
Ok...there are a few reasons that it is not best to use a bath to get clean. I hate talking about this because I love my baths but I use them to relax and not to get clean. Our feet are quite dirty (even when the do not look it)...so whats the first thing that goes into a bath? Your dirty feet. As we are sitting in the bath the dirt and oils are getting into the water and re-sticking to our body. Even if we use soap to wash...by the time we get out the dirty water has already came in contact with our body. Not to mention we have to be sure we are using clean water in our vaginal area after a bath to keep from yeast infection and then go pee to keep from a urinary tract infection. I hope this help.
might be weird, but i prefer baths to shower, im an 18 y/o male. im sure its arguable that showers are more sanitary, but if the water is hot enough, which it useally is, a bath would kill all bacteria anyway.
pffft no. a bath cleans you doesnt it??
    LOL

    baths dont clean you

dude you're sitting in your own filth..

Take a shower. It's good for you to be clean and makes you feel refreshed and relaxed. Can you take a shower or bath when u have ur period?
You really should bathe or shower if you are on your period, it won't cause a health problem.

I usually wear a tampon because I don't want blood running down my leg in the shower, and I don't want to bathe in my blood.

YES!! Please do! You will stink and people will know your on! Thats the stupidist sh!t ive ever heard! You need to clean really good all the time! You WILL get a heath(and social) problem if you DONT shower or bath while your on your period!
Well, you have to be clean somehow!

Obviously some people are stupid and don't know what they are talking about. Or the people that told you are trying to pull your leg knowing you are naive to believe them.
    Please shower every day.

Yes, you can shower and bathe while on your period.

Take your tampon out when you shower.
BAHAHAHAHAHA. -clears throat- Of course you can. It won't cause any health problems its very natural to clean yourself even if you're on your period =/
No, that is false. Of course you can take a shower or bath. It will help you feel better and help with cramps.

It does not cause any health problems!
Yes, you definitely can, and you definitely MUST!! I know it's an old wives tale, but it's one you don't want to listen to!!
imagine all the foul stench surrounding you if no one showered while they where on their period. I say showers don't cause health problems but not showering will.
    Of course, you take showers.

It actually makes you feel better,

and the blood stops when its in water..

so dont worry about taking a bath either.
thats the dumest thing i have even heard of course you can i take more showers then so i feel clean
    yes you should

i wish that old wives tale would die already

health wise it would be worse for you not to clean yourself during that time
    Yeah its actually better
yes, you need to bathe. it would be very gross if you didn't :P I wouldn't want nasty blood on me until mines over:P

Do you feel cleaner after having a bath or a shower?

I probably feel cleaner because in a hot bath theres more time for the pores to open and in general you are cleaner!Do you feel cleaner after having a bath or a shower?
I feel cleaner when I have a shower.

I never have baths, bathing in dirty water is not my style!Do you feel cleaner after having a bath or a shower?
you may feel cleaner, but you aren't. Think of the dirt and germs coming off your body and into that water, you end up sitting in a tub full of filthy germ filled soup. Many women get bladder infections and yeast infections from taking tub baths, and there simply is no way to rinse off well enough to get all that off of you when you get out. Showers are far and away a healthier way to get cleaner.

  • Do you need to rinse or shower after taking your bath?

i'm new to this bath thing. find it wird though to come out from the bath without rinsing after that.Do you need to rinse or shower after taking your bath?
Unless you are unbelievably dirty, no you don't need to rinse off though you can if you want. I usually wash my hair and face first while the water is still clean, then scrub the rest of me, or use a spray hose to rinse my hair . Consider: whatever dirt came off you is now diluted 5000 times or more by the water, so if you get out of the water and dry off, how much dirt could possibly be left on you? I actually think you get cleaner in a bath, because when you soak for a bit, you loosen a lot of dead skin which comes off when you use a washcloth or loofah. That doesn't happen in a quick shower.Do you need to rinse or shower after taking your bath?
I usually do quickly shower off, you have been laying in that water that your body dirt has now deposited in the water. And if you wash your hair you want to rinse that off also. You won't be soaping up and totally washing any bath oils that you used, only rinsing off the excess.
Rinse my body when I am finish washing my hair and washing my body.

I clean my bathtub once week on Saturday mornings

Problem with my shower and bath faucets?

Water comes out of the bath faucet but not the shower. When I turn the faucet so water will come out of the shower...just a trickle. And I know my shower head is not clogged. Any ideas?Problem with my shower and bath faucets?
If you have low water pressure, the valve that switches the water pressure over to the shower head may not close right and the water will keep going thru the faucet.Problem with my shower and bath faucets?
The seal on the faucet is probably bad, or you need a new setup. You can probably change the seal yourself, but a new unit will take some expertise. If your shower is tiled, you will probably have to re-tile it, or find a tile that closely matches and put a diamond shape, or something of that nature, where the faucet tile gets damaged.
did you put the valve in the wrong way? if so you are like me. i did that. all i got was a trinkel. where you install the pull up valve it can go both ways. try turning it around if that the case.

What is the difference between shower gel and Cream bath?

If we use cream bath( bubble bath) as shower gel, does it damage our skin? What is the difference between shower gel and Cream bath?
I accidentally bought some palmolive bubble bath instead of shower gel recently. I checked the ingredients list to see if there was anything in it that's not in the shower gel I used before, and found that it was absolutely identical, word for word. It felt slightly more watery though, so I guess it must have a bit more water in it (which if anything will make it better for your skin). As the bath stuff is much cheaper, I've carried on using it in the shower. What is the difference between shower gel and Cream bath?
No it doesnt damage your skin its just designed to create bubbles
according to my opinion there aren't any different it's not important what but it's more important the quality
no. if it did, it wouldnt be sold.

its not the best thing to use to clean your skin, but it will make you smell nice.
Might not be a good idea to use bubble bath, cream bath direct on skin.. meant to be diluted by water. whereas shower gel goes straight on body.
effectiveness and moisturising qualities. shower gel makes you cleaner, but doesn't moisturise as well. creme bath isn't a very effective cleaner, but it makes you much more moisturised as it is in contact with your skin for much longer.
The former is a liquid form of soap that you apply directly to your skin. The latter is for pouring under running water to create bubbles in the bath. I wouldn't use bath foam directly on the skin.
nah coz its in the bath water anyway so makes no difference
no its just for the bath and makes your skin more creamy and the gel just cleans it and makes it a little soft

How much would it cost to put a shower in a half bath?

I'm moving in a few weeks and I'd like to turn the half bath into a full bath, but only for a few hundred dollars. Can it be done? How much would it cost to put a shower in a half bath?
Sorry, even if you DIY the material alone for a fiber glass pan and a surround is close to a 1000$. This wouldn t even include a tub , just a shower unit. Plus all the plumbing supplies etc. Then you ll have new flooring most likely...GLHow much would it cost to put a shower in a half bath?
I have done this. It was not easy as most half baths are not large enough to do this without moving stuff around and thus it has to be on the 1st floor with a basement below that allows you to get at the plumbing. Online, you can find prefab shower stalls (also at big box building stores) but not for under about a thousand plus the plumbing. You could build your own shower stall and just buy the floor tray (at most building big box stores). In order to do this you need to be able to do basic carpentry and basic plumbing. It is not hard but you need to get to the library and read up before you try it and then plan everything out in great detail before you pick up a hammer. The job I did cost about 1700 with me doing all of the labor but it works. If you know anyone who is handy with carpentry or plumbing get them to help.
Let me get this straight - you want to add a bathtub to an existing shower?

If you are thinking about hiring someone in this economy - you will likely find someone willing to do the work for real cheap. Look them up on craigs list or something.

Cheapest tub is like $130 + $60 to $80 for other hardware + a few new replacement tiles (if you can find matching tile) + $200 to 600 for labor depending on your luck.

So, yeah, it can potentially be done for a few hundred.

    GL
No, with new piping, water in drain out. Permits, Wall covering, tile or fiber glass, you will have $3000 to $10,000.

    Sorry......

Is watering roses with the water from the bath room shower likely to be bad for them?

The bath room shower water would contain amounts of rinsed off soapIs watering roses with the water from the bath room shower likely to be bad for them?
depend if you have soft or hard water. If you have hard water no it caqn be used to water your roses. I f you have soft water I would not use it because it has salt added to it and we kill the roses. Is watering roses with the water from the bath room shower likely to be bad for them?
No, you shouldn't have any problem, lots of people water plants of all types with';Gray Water'; a great way to get more mileage out of the water.
actually good for them... my grandmother used to have the drain from her washing machine run into the flower bed.
just so there is no chlorine bleach
I think it would be ok as long as you water the ground and not the leaves, roses watered over the leaves are more likely to get black spot. I think the soap would be beneficial.

  • Where can i get a bath shower attachment with one connector to suit a bath mixer tap?

I did some searching and only found that victorian style's would work but that probably set you back a few bucks considering it's antiquity. I would just get a standard tap or common replacement and add a shower attachment.

How long have you gone without taking a shower/bath?

In the National Guard, at a annual training, the shower point broke down on the second day. We went a week and half with using wet wipes to clean our funky selves. We all were so tired and beat down by the time command got authorization to take us down the hill to a gym for a shower. BLEEPING red tape!!! God forbid the army just look at a soldier and say yes, instead of having fourteen levels of morons to approve a shower.

But we felt so much better walking out of there. Except for the dirty looks that the regular army guys were giving us for invading their turf. How long have you gone without taking a shower/bath?

Though I freshened up by washing my face in airport and train station bathrooms, that was it.
Without even attempting to clean up a little? Four days. We were roughing it and the only available water was for drinking.

I've gone longer camping, but I try to at least take a sponge bath or something.

Umm like 4 or 5 days, without actually showering or anything. I went swimming in a pool a though. It's still kinda gross and I hate the way my hair feels if I haven't washed it for a few days
Three days, on a camping trip - I felt GROSS...
A few days, I was camping.
    A week... isn't that gross!!!!
Weeks. In China we didnt' have hot water, so, in the winter time, baths didn't happen. You just sponge off every once in a while.
There aint a soldier in the word that hasn't gone without for at least a week. And boy is it good when you do hit the showers!!!
    maybe 2 days.... maybe..
Not long. I am a compulsive showerer.
i had major surgery and the doctor said not to get the incision wet for two weeks. so i had no shower or bath for that length of time. i did do pan baths.. after those two weeks boy did it feel good to bathe.
a week, but I was surfing everyday twice a day

  • Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?

What is the minimum time to rest after you exercise before taking a bath or a shower?

Can one take a bath immediately after an exercise even your skinpores are open due to perspiration? Are there any bad effects in your body? What is the minimum time to rest after you exercise before taking a bath or a shower?
You can shower anytime after exercise. What is the minimum time to rest after you exercise before taking a bath or a shower?
If you want to take a shower, take a shower.
wait 10 minutes if you can =if you take a bath right away you won't hurt anything ,but could fall asleep in the tub=better to do the shower in tepid water ,not hot
Wait about 15-20 minutes, not that it would hurt you but your body is still trying to cool, and you will continue to sweat, which is the whole point of showering. But you do not NEED to wait.

How do you bath in the shower?

I just turned 14 a few months ago and until now I've always taken baths. But then some friends of mine convinced me that showers are better. And I agree! But I'm just confused about the correct method of showering. In movies you see people rubbing themselves with soap and then rinsing off. But then you see in other movies people use a shower brush or loofah. At the moment I use soap and a rag but is there a better or ';right'; way to do it?How do you bath in the shower?
I wash my face with soap then I use this body wash and shampoo I have to get my as*, balls, armpits, and head. It takes me like 5 minutes and I barely waste any water so I can do like 2 a dayHow do you bath in the shower?
I love the loofah! Bubbles and you feel cleaner because it scrubs dead skin off and makes your skin a lot softer. But I'm the type of girl who spends most of her free time trying to look great for her man. If you don't really care or have anyone to impress then It really doesn't matter what you use because once you're taking a shower most of the dirt comes off anyway. BUT whatever you do, make sure you wash your hair first.
lol no there's no ';right'; way to do it.

It's just like taking a bath, people do it differently.

Some people use loufahs and shower brushes in the bath tub too.

It's all personal prefrence. And mine would be a loufah! lol

    good luck!
Not really, my BF uses a rag because he says it makes him feel cleaner. I like the poofy things because they make big bubbles. %26lt;3 But usually I just use my hands. ^_^ It depends on you, whatever you like best.
    i use the loofah thing

    ^ like those lol

    cause i like them

and no theres no like ';right way'; to shower
Lol, there's no ';right'; way to take a shower. Whatever you do works as long as it gets you clean! :]
    Look it up on Google.

Or be like the people way back when and only shower once a year. Then you will be beautiful.
Try a buff puff, with moisturizing shower gel.

  • How do you have a bath or a shower with a cast on your arm or leg?

Is it not a bit awkward? How do you have a bath or a shower with a cast on your arm or leg?
It's really awkward, and unfortunately a bath is normally the only way to go. What I did was take a big trash bag (depending on how large the cast is and how much of the limb it covers), saran wrap the open end, just in case, and duct tape it. When taking the bath, prop it up on the edge of the tub and don't wash anywhere near the skin where the cast is, you can get that with a cleansing pad later. What's really awkward is if you have long hair and a cast arm; it's hard shampooing one-handed.

From personal experience, it IS very, very awkward. For someone who's younger, it's easy to get someone to help, but otherwise it's just...weird. You almost stop looking forward to bathing... :(How do you have a bath or a shower with a cast on your arm or leg?
ok first what ever you have a cast on youll need to cover it with some type of bag usually then youll tape it shut so no water comes in..if its your arm its easier because you can take a bath and leave it out of the water but still have it wrapped up and def dont want to take a bth if you have a leg cast unless you can somehoe hang it ove the side of the tube..the key is to never submerse the cast in water...regardless if you have it wrapped up or not..good luck with it though its not fun either way
But a small chair with a backrest if you don't feel like standing in the bathtub and shower with your cast out of the it. Its more comfortable and it feels nice when you shower and sitting down. Just kinda cover your cast with plastic, a towel and or with shower curtain. Other than that, get a bag and cover it... with a ruberband or tape.
You bath with your leg hanging over the edge. To shower, you put a garbage bag UP the leg and then tape it shut to prevent water from entering at the top. OR you just take a sponge bath until you figure a better way. Been there, done both. You just shower/bath slower than usual and it works ok
There are things you can buy to put over the cast so it won't get wet. My parents when I broke my arm put a bread bag over my arm with a rubber band. It is a bit weird feeling the rest of you clean but knowing that under that cast it is probably gross.
Saran wrap. duct tape the edges. You do not want the inside of a cast wet because it will stink, stink, stink, and may cause an infection.
Very much so. Happened to a friend of mine and his solution was to wrap his arm in plastic LOL. Well wouldn't hurt to test it out.
    wrap it in a bag.
