How much bath/shower stuff do u own?

14 counting the shampoo %26amp; conditioner.

11 without....just body gels and stuff.How much bath/shower stuff do u own?
Not too much, now that I know what works. I'm assuming you're talking about cleaning supplies. Use ';The Works'; and it's all you'll ever need! They make shower and tub spray, and toilet cleaner and the stuff is amazing!

If you're talking about soaps and shampoos, I have considerably more. I like to change up my shampoos and conditioners because I think it's better for hair. I change up soaps for different scents. I have different razors for different parts of the body. So, yeah.... you'll see more sitting out in my bathtub, but not too many cleaning supplies under the sink! How much bath/shower stuff do u own?
60ish - I've colected them over 5 yrs XD
All that is in my bathroom.

Problem with shower/bath. Need quick fix!?

I think I broke the shower... The little thing that you pull up so that water comes out the showerhead broke and it won't work. Does anyone know how to fix this? Do I have to call someone?Problem with shower/bath. Need quick fix!?
Did you break the lever off or did it feel like it may have come loose? if it feels loose take the screws out of the cover plate and take a look, you may be able to reconnect it,if it was broke off you may be able to replace it yourself.if it was my tub i would take a look at the very least to try and fix it myself, you can find a plumbing supply co in the phone book call and ask for a little help,i would do this before calling a plumber, what can it hurt?Problem with shower/bath. Need quick fix!?

read about half way down........

no quick fix
you have to get a new diverter spout,
Yea your going to need to call a plumber and have them replace that whole piece.
Unscrew it counterclockwise and take the whole fawcet off. go to hardware or home store and ask the old guy to fix it if not ask for a replacement, you have to put pipe putty on the threads before you screw it back on, if you need to use a pipewrench put a heavy rag on it first not to scratch it.

Better yet call local vo tech and ask plumbing instructor to have students help you, give them a couple dollars each, if you make it worse a plumber will love you

Best bet is ask a plumber or 2 for a written estimate and make sure an estimate is free
You need to tear up the walls and remodel the whole bathroom
I own a small business doing bathroom renovations. It sounds like all you need is a new spout. The old one will come off in one of two ways: 1) it simply twists off, or; 2) there will be an Allen key set screw underneath -- just loosen the set screw, and slip the spout off. Once you have it off, take it to Home Depot, or wherever, and you can buy a new one,no problem. Should cost under $20 for a typical diverter spout. Best of luck.

How many days/weeks have you gone without a bath or shower?

long time. my record is probably about a monthHow many days/weeks have you gone without a bath or shower?
I shower every morning, but I have pale skin and dark hair. If you have blonde hair you can probably get away with every other day. Other then that every day with dandruff shampoo in the winter. How many days/weeks have you gone without a bath or shower?
Went 2 weeks once.

Was deeep in the boonies with the Army.

Best I could manage was a crotch bath with icy water every couple of days.

Man, that sucked! I've never been that filthy or smelly before or since!

yeah. last year for my school's chorus competition trip to myrtle beach me and my friend went to the beach before the award ceremony and decided we needed to shower so we werent all sandy. we saved time by hopping in the shower with our bathing suits on and i had usher in my head but i turned it into ';i wanna make love in this tub.'; then i realized she had her pump on (she's diabetic.) she screamed SH!T and jumped outta the shower. it was funny.
No, but we did to save time. My husband and I had a newborn baby and a small water heater. It wasn't fun like you would expect, it was all business ... but we did both get clean in the time it usually took one of us.
Ofcoz you are ';just thinkin about the environment';...haha...no i havent done that to save water but i try other things like conserving energy.
I've shared both, but admittedly, water conservation was not at the top of the agenda.

Or when you step out, even if it isn't cold it feels so much colder than it is?Why is it when you step into a warm shower/bath...?
    it's weird...

and why do you want to stay in there for the rest of your life? Why is it when you step into a warm shower/bath...?
I know, I'm wondering the same thing, but I have no idea.
Because the arterial vessels in your feet absorb the heat from your shower/bath, and your venous vessels are ...god...my explanation would take way to long and I doubt you are smart enough to understand. Just know that you feel cold when you step out because heat is leaving your body.
    I dunno but it's true : )
Your body wants to balance temperature. When hot water hits your skin, the heat LEAVES your skin and heads to the core of your body. That's why you feel cold when you first step in. But then the hot water heats your skin up, and your body and skin are both hot and you feel good :)

When you step out of the shower, you still have water on your skin. To dry your skin off, the water needs to evaporate. In order to evaporate (change from a state of liquid to gas), energy (heat) is needed. Energy (heat) used for evaporation is STOLEN from your body. So that's why you feel cold when you step out %26lt;--- haha I think this one makes more sense :D
Its because Its through Cold Air that's why
I have no clue but that is a good question...
Your body's current temperature reacts to the hot/warm water like a ';shock'; because your body isn't used to it at that moment.

  • Yes i need help every time i bath of shower i get real hot then start to sweat in my body smells?

like i can smell food smell comein out of my pores what to doYes i need help every time i bath of shower i get real hot then start to sweat in my body smells?
Well, if you smell food- it is common for certain foods in a person's diet to be exuded from their pores. To a certain extent no matter what you eat will have this effect- the difference tends to be more noticeable depending on how often you shower or bathe.

A good suggestion would be sit down on a chair or what have you, on top of your towel, in the nude, following your shower and ';air dry'; your body. That's right, all the nooks and crevices should be exposed to the air to get a good dry- I find this works very well, because when you first get out of the shower your body is still sweating a lot from how hot the shower was.

Another suggestion would be, the last 30 seconds of your shower, switch the water to the cold setting. If you can tolerate the cold, it would also be a good time to rinse conditioner form your hair in the cold water, as your hair will be softer when rinsed with cold water.Yes i need help every time i bath of shower i get real hot then start to sweat in my body smells?
You need to cleanse your body from the inside out, so drink lots of water and eat healthy and that should help work the smell out of your body through your pores.
    take a cooler shower.

Can you bath/ shower during a lightening storm?

I always heard not to.Can you bath/ shower during a lightening storm?
case 1: the walls are made of conducting material

In this case you can safely bath, because the silica in the concrete is a better conductor of electricity than water and will conduct the electricity to the earth. How ever highly ionised water might still conduct a fraction of the electricity.

Case 2: the walls are made of insulating material and the water storage is exposed to lightning:

This might be really dangerous as the lightning can be discharged only through the water and will toast you.

Case 3: The walls are made of insulating material and the water storage is properly insulated from lightning attacks:

DON WORRY.Can you bath/ shower during a lightening storm?
Views of Arun K,are simply beautiful over the range of the answer and the simplicity of the presentation.HATS OFF FOR THE ANSWER.

In Vietnam we often showered during torrential rain. There was somewhat less lightning for whatever reason. Better than being dirty.

Many people visiting Colorado mountains make the mistake of taking shelter under trees during rain and lightning. Virtually every year one reads in the newspaper or hears on the raiio about one or two of these people being struck and killed.

A body of water is a very dangeous place. If you are there during a lightning storm you are probably one of the tallest objects. Also, there are high currents (the killers) in the water located at the immediate area of the strike.

The more metal objects in your clothing, the worse it will be for you.
Sure, unless you plan on doing it out on the open :)
No! No, no, no, no, no! It is a very, very bad idea. You are very likely to get struck by lightning that way. The electricity can carry through the piping and the water.

And even if you haven't been struck before while bathing in a storm, there is no need to take the risk.

If you don't believe me, the TV show, Mythbusters, actually tested this out. Their results were the same. (They also tested out the phone thing as well. That's bad too.)
The Mythbusters did an episode on that and I believe that they proved that it wouldn't be a good idea. Granted, there are many variants to consider, such as the type of house you're in, where the bathroom is compared to the strike zone and so forth. I'm not sure exactly which episode it was, but if you don't mind spending a little time searching, you can probably find reference to it in the link below.
I would... as a matter of fact i did last night and I'm okay. There are some pretty strong storms here in Dallas and i never heard that. Now whats not safe is making a phone call on a land line during a storm... so i hear... but i have done that as well and I'm still alive.
It is alright actually. Most buildings will have lightning conductor installed to conduct away the electricity in event of lightning strike, so the occupants will be safe. As long as you are in the building, there is no fear.

You will fear if you are showering in the open and you are about the tallest object around in a lightning storm.
its ok i've never been struck by lightening,
Of course you can... The only thing that prevents people from showering during a lightning storm is possibilities of power outages which would leave you showering in the dark.or in some cases get freaked out when there is a power failure
Of course, and statistically I do not believe that too many people get fried in their bath, but it does tie you in closely to a solid ground plane and being wet lowers your own skin's resistance, both not so smart things to do around electricity.
Yes, but be sure not to bathe indoors. Bathing outdoors is much safer during a lightning storm. To be extra cautious, place a long metal rod close to the tub where you are bathing. This will repel any of the electricity that might find its way to your home from a far away lightning strike. The only thing to worry about when bathing outdoors is nosey neigbours and maybe a few bugs.

if i used latex condoms in the bath would they pop or anything? Are latex condoms ok to use in the shower/bath?
the water would wear the lubrication away and it could possibly breakAre latex condoms ok to use in the shower/bath?
Condoms aren't tested underwater, so there's not really any way to know unless you try, but that's obviously irresponsible. I wouldn't risk it. The most likely thing that'll happen is that the lube will be washed off and then it'll break because of the dryness.
well, it would work, but if it gets ';dry'; it might tear! i would reccomend using a lube that works with condoms and in the water, just to be safe!
There is a higher chance of them breaking but there are some that some porn stores carry that are meant for underwater use. Shower would be better than a bath as well.
    just dont use one

Survey: Is it recommended to have a shower/bath daily?

I was recently on the Caribbean ( Island Jamaica) and had to take two showers every day so I could keep clean and smell fresh due to how hot the weather was. When I returned to the United States, I noticed I would skip a day without taking a shower and still smell fresh, especially since it is winter. But I am wondering now if it is recommended to have a shower/bath daily?

What about you?Survey: Is it recommended to have a shower/bath daily?
Every other day is the recommended.

taking a shower or a bath daily is bad for your skin and hair. your hair and skin needs to retain some of the oils in it. Taking too much showers can make your hair fragile and cause it to break.

If you don't want to take a shower every day, take one every other day and use deodorant regularly.Survey: Is it recommended to have a shower/bath daily?
I guess it depends. Generally, I think people can shower every other day at most.

It's different for each case, though. Like for me, I have to take a shower daily, because skipping one day gives me rashes or some kind of skin irritation. I take 2 showers a day when I have gym.

I think, people should take a shower if once they feel ';sticky';, itchy, too hot or when they start to smell something fishy :p
Taking a bath/shower should be everybodys # 1 priority at the start of their day (after workin out/ exercising of course).

    It exfoliates

    Relieves stress

    Gets the germs off

and of course you will not have bo.

Just could never understand the bath thing (sittin in dirty water) i like my ';rain';. lol.
I take a bubble bath everyday because it's more of a my time type thing. I learned in beauty school that you should only shampoo your hair every other day at the most because of the essential oils in your scalp. Unless you have very oily hair, you strip them if you shampoo everyday.
    Depends on the climate.

If it is cold or winter, it doesn't matter if you stay up to a day

But if it is humid, you will feel sticky or sweaty, so I would say 1 shower daily.
I take a shower every day because I'm a professional dog groomer, and I just don't like smelling like dog. Lol.

I've heard that every other day is the recommended because showering/bathing too much can cause dry skin/hair.
it's personal choice. i take shower daily because i live in warm weather and i work and interact with customers on a daily basis.
I shower daily because i dont like smelling bad.

Its probably better to take showers daily but some people don't (like my science teacher) to ';save water';.

I would if i could but honestly i dont wanna smell.
it really depends on the person and the climate. some people sweat more, have oilier skin...others can get away with skipping a day
If I'm busy I do find myself skipping one day, but never more than that. Except if I am sick in bed then it could be a couple days....ew!

But yea, I would recommend showering/bathing daily because it helps prevent infections.
For me I do 2 one in the morning and one at night because of after school sports.
No, u r supposed to do it like every other day, it is healthier for you hair! idk though, lol
When I was growing up it was a bath once a week, and that habit of showering or bathing has on increased as I grew older.
im sure its fine, just wash after going to the toilet,
For some people.................I would hope so!!

Is it a big deal to wee in your bath if you shower off afterwards?

Happened to me. I was reading my harry potter book, and was just trying to take a long soak, and kinda peed, because I was not trying to get clean, was too relaxed, and was a bit too in the book. But I showered off after. Is it a big deal to wee in your bath if you shower off afterwards?
    No, not at All.

Is it a big deal to wee in your bath if you shower off afterwards?
No. As long as you shower off, it's fine with me.
    hahaha

if you dont care then why should we?

its not like we r the ones in the bath
    ehh, why not?
    i think its pretty disgusting

Do people sweat when they are taking a hot shower or bath?

Just curious.Do people sweat when they are taking a hot shower or bath?
Absolutely!Do people sweat when they are taking a hot shower or bath?
After having a hot shower people do sweat.. that is coz of the reason of temperature difference
    I know I do.
    Yes.

Even if you're in water, you still sweat. Your body temperature rises and then you sweat because your body is trying to cool down. It happens when you swim even though the water may be cool. You still sweat.

Which one get you cleaner, a shower or a bath?

I've always taken showers, but when I take baths, my body soaks more and my insides gets cleaner wayy faster. Does that actually mean im cleaner by taking baths?Which one get you cleaner, a shower or a bath?
Technically showers are cleaner. When you bath you wash off all the dirt and germs but then you sit in it. If you feel cleaner inside when you bathe (I'm assuming you mean private regions) then you can 1. wash better in the shower or 2. shower to wash off all the yucky stuff then take a nice soak and wash off. Unfortunately, I work in the medical field so I rarely bathe. (mostly from being aroudn the germs its cleaner to just shower its what were taught but I usually shower and wash off then I take a bubble bath afterwards when I want to relax.)Which one get you cleaner, a shower or a bath?
A shower is actually generally cleaner. This is because in a bath when the dirt and bacteria come off your body they don't get washed away they stay in the bath. The warm temperature of the bath isn't nearly enough to kill bacteria and actually lets them incubate. In a shower however when the dirt and bacteria come off your body, you don't continue to bathe in it, and down the drain the dirt and bacteria goes.
Enjoy having a nice relaxing bath, then have a quick shower immediately afterwards to rinse off.

    Best of both worlds!

Or have a shower to get 'clean', then get into a nice bath to just relax.
Your putinany might get a bit more thourough of a cleaning, but in genral, baths are just like soaking in dirt/oil stew.
Showers. The only time I take baths in when my boyfriend and I take them together.
I think showers are cleaner..cause if you take a bath your just sitting there with all that dirt in the water
Bath i hate showers......showers are for when u are in a rush but bath are when u soak your body and get all the dirt off u
showers of course. baths you;re just bathing in your dirtyness.

Which one, because in a bath you soak, but also your dirt is floating around you, but a shower just kinda hits you and runs off, but you dont soak in it..

Thanks xxx :]Does a shower or bath clean you better?
with a shower you rinse with clean water - not soapy dirty water that you have just bathed in. Shower gels are made especially to rinse clean. You wash your hair, and your body all at the same time. If your a guy, you can even shave in the shower...(I do) Plus - you use less water. The downside is: you don't get to play with the rubber duckie!!!Does a shower or bath clean you better?
i would think a shower would, because when you use soap it gets all that dirt off, and then the water will rinse it off... in a bath, like you said, it's floating around you, and when you get up, it's most likely going to still cling to you.
A study was done that says a bath followed by a shower works best. The bath loosens the dirt and the shower rinses it away.
Shower. If you're taking a bath I believe you're making yourself dirtier by bathing sweat and what not.
they both clean yeh! but a water fall's better!!!

Girls, what do you do when your taking a bath/Shower with your boyfriend, but you have to pee?

    1. Pee in the tub/shower anyways

    2. Pee only if he enjoys that kinda stuff

    3. Pee in the toilet of the same bathroom, and have him right there watching

    4. find a different bathroom to pee in.Girls, what do you do when your taking a bath/Shower with your boyfriend, but you have to pee?
Take over the bathroom and pee first before either one of us hop in the shower :)Girls, what do you do when your taking a bath/Shower with your boyfriend, but you have to pee?
    5. hold it until after the shower is over
Thank God we have a second bathroom, but in the event we had this problem--I'd have to say I'd pee in the tub/shower because either way, I'd have to scrub myself anyway. Even on the rare occasion I take a tub bath, I still shower afterwards because I don't like the tub scum/soap residue on me. I always shower after a bath. In the event I shower only--what the hell--it runs down the drain anyway.
    1. in the shower

    3. in the tub
My husband would prob have a heart attack if I urinated on him, lol. Eww anyone should urine is very nasty. That's a private thing, lol.
get close to the drain...and make sure the water is on you!!
    probably 3
    1. If I had a boyfriend, then I would NEVER EVER take a shower with him. It is so disgusting and gross.

    2. I would most definitely go to the bathroom and pee ahead of time.

    3. If I had a boyfriend, then I would NEVER EVER have him in the bathroom with me to watch me pee. That, too, is so disgusting and gross.

What is a reasonable contractor's fee for installing a standard half-bath with a shower stall ?

I live in SW Virginia. My husband and I could do the detail work such as painting an hanging cabinets. The main thing we need done is framing the room and connecting to the cast iron drain pipe in the basement (the bathroom will be on the 3rd floor in a 1 1/2 story 1950's home). Thanks :)What is a reasonable contractor's fee for installing a standard half-bath with a shower stall ?
Generally, there is a lot of variance to the cost of remodeling. I did my own recently, and was able to make a 8X10 bathroom for $900, but that was going middle of the line and doing it all myself. Look at around $350 for framing any 8X10 wall (Material and labor), another $150 per wall for drywall, $3-500 for an installed shower stall, if it is just standard, nothing fancy, $2-300 for a vanity installed, then add in flooring and lighting to get a ballpark. Also, in most states, a shower stall and sink is considered a full bath. What is a reasonable contractor's fee for installing a standard half-bath with a shower stall ?
I am a Framer and a reasonable price for the framing is around $2.50-$3.50 a square foot Plus materials Though because It is only remodel work you can negotiate the difference However if Virginia isn't a right to work state and you are forced to use the unions then I am sorry you'll have to pay way to much and are better off learning to frame and plumb your own projects. Oh and I think that when you put a shower stall in a bath it becomes a 3/4 bath I am not in real estate though so don't take my word for that though. Good luck If you were my neighbor I am so board right now I would help you just to get out of my own house. Like for nothing. Have fun.
Brandy, contact me directly so I can get some more particulars and I'll work you up a baseline price to work from.

How do I prevent the hose shower pipe in my bath getting twisted?

Is there a gadget which could be fixed between the hose and the tap which helps to prevent twisting, eg like one available to a telephone. How do I prevent the hose shower pipe in my bath getting twisted?
Stop worrying my friend, these thing tend to straighten themselves out.How do I prevent the hose shower pipe in my bath getting twisted?
Buy a non metal hose, try your local bathroom showroom, look for hoses by Hansgrohe, any good quality hose should not twist, you get what you pay for!
If that's really problem, buy new hose :D more elastic... It's 5$ only

How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?

I am thinking of buying a home with a half bath in the basement and need to add a shower for my elderly inlaws. It is big enough to add the stall, we just need to plumb it. We are going to hire a contractor to do the job. How much can we expect to pay?How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?
Expect to pay somewhere around $2000 to $3000 depending on who you hire and what grade of materials you use. Picking an expensive tile or shower hardware could possibly increase your costs. How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?
Probably about 2500 dollars, if you get a low-cost stand-up unit.

Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?

I think it does my aunt told me to never get in the shower after tanning. Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?
    Both can.

My mother in law worked in a tanning salon for ever, and I helped her get her Smart Tan certificate.

They say that you should not come in contact with water for at least 8 hours after tanning.

Especially true when it comes to self tanners, as they only 'tan' the top layers of the skin. Showering sloughs of the 'tanned' skin. Can taking a shower or bath wash off your tan?
No -only if you have a sunless tan from a bottle -your supossed to wait 24 hours to shower - but a tan from the sun will not wash away -this is silly -once its there its there -
Grab a Brillo pad -scrub really hard-it may come off. Other than that-nope- it will not ';come off';. If there is too much sun as in -you have a burn- the redness may deteriorate with cool water. You remove the redness and not the tan.
Could be because hot water would be uncomfortable on skin made sensitive by exposture to the sun.At the end if the day a';tan'; is a ';burn'; and should be treated as such.
Only if it is fake, such as you used a product to make your skin darker. But a natural tan from the sun will not come off in the shower, but it will fade with time.
    unfortunately yes...espesh if its fake
Yeah it can, one of my friends went too orange before her formal and got in the shower and scrubbed herself and got some of it off. It didnt all come off but it looked much better than it did before. So yes it can, but it doesnt like wash straight off, you really have to try to get it off.
you are shedding skin all the time, tan will fade, unless you cheated an had it sprayed on
in due course , if u use gram flour instead of soap
If it's a natural, sun-induced tan, I don't think soap and water can do any harm. But, if it's a spray-on tan, then maybe it would wash off a little.

What products are available to line bath/shower enclosures other than tile, fiberglass, or granite. ?

I'm looking for a product that can withstand years of water, comes in large panels or sheets, is relatively thin (1/2 in. or so) and is aesthetically pleasing. Cost is a factor, but I'd rather pay a little more than mess with hours and hours of time and tiles. There are a lot of plastic materials available, in addition to fiberglass, and they're usually more durable and resistant to damage than FG.

You might also look at what I call ';fake rock'; replicas -- they're basically thin concrete products that go up like tile ... except that you don't have to be careful with joints, and they usually cover a lot more area quicker. I used them to cover a giant plywood box, which now looks like a 16' rock wall at the end of my driveway, 7 feet tall. Looks incredible, takes no maintenance.

I've seen them used to line showers, and some of the thicker ones even make it look like a rock grotto, and with a bit of plumbing you can have the showerhead pouring over a rock at you, like a waterfall. The soap shelf, etc., can be worked in with different shape rocks, etc. One of my local dealers has several examples in his showroom.

It's easy %26amp; fun to work with, and hard to make a mistake. It is pretty cheap, too. About six bucks a sq foot, five yrs ago, plus the cost of mortar and sealer.

I think there are a number of larger companies that now have websites on this stuff, so it's worth a look if your local phone book doesn't list anything under stone, stonemason, etc., but most of your local builders will know who to go to. This stuff is almost universally used in place of real rocks now, though most people don't realize it.
Bath fitters are pretty cheap and extremely durable
