How can we seal our bath / shower?

I have removed the plastic sealant from around the bath as it was failing - i didnt realise that there was a lip tucked up behind the tiles (the person who did it obviously tiled over the plasic seal) this has now left about a 1.5 cm gap. Can anyone suggest a way of sealing this? How can we seal our bath / shower?
fill the bath with water, otherwise when you step in it it will drop slightly and open up your good work, then run plenty of silicon over the gap, sealing it, make sure it well sealed, to fill 1.5cm gap you may have to use the silcon tube without a nozzle to get the loading wide enough. Don't worry to much about a mess or overloading because it will be hidden from view later, make sure it is well covered. You might have to do it in stages and build it up by sticking the silicon to the wall, and then the bath, before filling in the middle if the silicon is just falling through the gap on your first attempt. When it is semi-dry 15mins or so, dont let it get too hard and inflexible, apply a plastic seal that fits over the tiles and onto the bath. This sometimes comes in a roll and you cut it to length, or in long strips, either way you need to mitre the corner, again no need to be 100% perfect because supplied with the strip are small clear plastic blocks that fit in the corner under the seal and under the ends to give it strength these will help hide any imperfections in your mitre. If need be, a tiny bead of silicon the same colour as the strip ( you can buy them in variety of colours) can be run over the mitre.

The seal is pressed into the gap gently and stuck to the wall with a self adhesive strip that comes with it, and they can be bought cheaply from hardware, DIY shops, tile stores etcHow can we seal our bath / shower?
the bath tile trip is designed to be tiled over the top wall part with the tile fitting into the ready made slot.

Sounds like the bath tile trim was installed correctly.

you can remove the lowest row of tiles and fit new tile bath trim with silicone for an extra seal, then tile over again. or try an external bath trim product.

If you have any movement between the bath and the wall you might have to re-fit the bath with extra wall batons to support the bath edge along with extra silicone sealant.

Any bodge will not last.

A friend of mine owns a p.v.c shop and has got a new product called

C E 1. It is in a silicone tube but does everything ,it can be applied under water stays flexible is 20 times stronger than grip-fill and comes in white or clear, and will easily fill the gap you have. it;s not cheap compered to normal mastic (拢7.50) but you get what you pay for.

Also fill your bath with water before you seal it other wise when you seal it with mastic's or caulk the weight of you and the water in the bath will break the seal and your back to square 1

hope this helps

ps. If you need info on the Ce1 i can ask my mate to phone his rep and find the nearest stockists to your town
Get some powder caulking mix and make sure you have hardner with it. Mix it up with the hardner solution to a paste then spread it oveer the opening and use a soft sponge to smooth it out.
