Over the past 2 weeks the tap has been getting stiffer when switching off (on is fine). It is so bad now that my partner and our 8yr can no longer turn it off. Any suggestions on what is needed and how to do it? Also if it is the worst case and i need to replace does anyone have any real good value options? it sounds like the washers knackered,look on the pipe for an isolation valve to turn off the water,failing that turn off at main stopcock.take off the tap,dismantle the top of the tap,replace new washer,costing you about 50pence,job done.How can i fix the hot tap on the Bath/shower mixer?
Penetrating oil on top spindle may cure it otherwise washer may need replacing.
